Flourishing in Grad School: Keys to Maintaining your Health and Wellbeing

Graduate school can be both an exciting and stressful time for many students. Supporting and caring for one’s health and wellbeing is important to learning and completing your degree. By the end of this webinar you will be able to:

  • Identify the resources that are available on and off campus to support your health and wellbeing
  • Understand how to access health and wellbeing resources
  • Identify the stress response, stressors in graduate school and how to cope with these
  • Identify some proactive steps you will take to support your health and wellbeing

Facilitator:

Levonne Abshire, MEd., COC (she/her/hers) Levonne is the Co-Director of the Health Promotion and Education Unit in Student Health and Wellbeing. Her role at UBC is to support student, staff, and faculty health and wellbeing through the development and implementation of programs and services. She works collaboratively with administrative units and Faculty to embed wellbeing in all areas of campus. Prior to this role, Levonne worked as an educator and administrator in both the Education and Non-profit sectors for almost 20 years. Levonne is a UBC alumna ‘98, ‘99, and ‘19.
